The gimp is a thin metal wire twisted into a tight spiral. The gimp does not oxidize, it is very light, the edges do not "crumble" when cut and do not require additional fixing or processing. The soft gimp is either cut into small pieces and sewn with threads like glass beads or beads, or a thread is passed through it and fastened with hidden stitches to the product (for long pieces).
