Vesuvian is a spectacular mineral, which in its best examples has valuable decorative qualities. This mineral is classified as ornamental (semi-precious) stones of the first order . Vesuvian stone got its name from the famous volcano Vesuvius. This happened in 1795, the discovery of the stone is attributed to the German geologist A. Werner. At that time, many mineral lovers found crystals of stone with a green tint in the lava of this volcano.
